A stock whose par value is stated in the articles of incorporation of a corporation and on its stock certificate. This is in contrast to no-par-value stocks. With the revision of the Commercial Code in June 2001, all stocks issued by companies were made no-par-value stocks, and par-value stocks were abolished.
