Tamagawa

Japanese: 玉川 - たまがわ
Tamagawa
This is a former town area in the southern part of Imabari City, located in the mountains of the Takanawa Peninsula in northern Ehime Prefecture. In 1954, the four villages of Kamobe, Donkawa, Tatsuoka, and Kuwa merged to form Tamagawa Village, which was incorporated as a town in 1962. In 2005, it merged with Imabari City, Namikata Town, Onishi Town, Kikuma Town, Yoshiumi Town, Miyakubo Town, Hakata Town, Kamiura Town, Omishima Town, Asakura Village, and Sekimae Village. Approximately 90% of the land is forest. Vegetables and flowers are grown in greenhouses using controlled cultivation, but the area is being developed into a residential suburb of Imabari City. Donkawa Onsen is located in the center, and the area is blessed with beautiful valleys. The Senbiki Cherry Blossoms are a national scenic spot. The 57th and 58th temples of the 88 Shikoku Pilgrimage are Eifuku-ji and Senyuji Temples, respectively. The artifacts excavated from the Iyo Province Naraharayama sutra mound at Narahara Shrine in Ono in the north are national treasures. Part of them belong to Okudogo Tamagawa Prefectural Natural Park.

Tamagawa

The largest tributary of the Omono River, which flows through eastern Akita Prefecture. It is 103 km long. It collects water from the southwestern slopes of the Hachimantai volcanic group, including Obukadake and Yakeyama, and flows south, entering the northern part of the Yokote Basin, and merging with the Omono River near Jinguji in Daisen City. The river has long been known as the Tamagawa Poisonous Water, and no fish can live there. When the Tamagawa Water was diverted into Lake Tazawa during the construction of the Yoroihata Power Plant, the fish in the lake died. Currently, the river water is injected underground near Tamagawa Onsen to neutralize the water. The Tamagawa River Basin is the largest power source area in Akita Prefecture. The upper and middle reaches of the river are lined with gorges such as the Dakigaeri Valley, and are designated as the Lake Tazawa Dakigaeri Prefectural Natural Park.

Tamagawa

This is the former village area in the northeastern part of Tokigawa Town, central Saitama Prefecture. It is located in the western part of the Hiki Hills. It was established as a village in 1889. It consists of the river terraces of the Tokigawa River and its tributary, the Suzume River, and the surrounding hills, and rice, vegetable and flower cultivation, and livestock farming are carried out here. Factories have also moved in from the Tokyo metropolitan area.
