Tamagawa [Hot Springs] - Tamagawa

Japanese: 玉川[温泉] - たまがわ

Located in Tazawako-cho, Senboku-gun, Akita Prefecture (now Senboku City), this hot spring is a national health resort hot spring that belongs to the Hachimantai hot spring area. It springs from Yakiishihara, upstream of the Tamagawa River, and has an abundant supply of hot water. It is an acidic alum spring containing hydrogen sulfide. The temperature is 95-98°C. Hot spring minerals are collected here, and the hot spring produces hokutoseki (a special natural monument). There is a polio research institute here. It is the base for sightseeing in Hachimantai, and a bus can be taken from Tazawako Station on the Tazawako Line.

秋田県仙北郡田沢湖町（現・仙北市）にあり，八幡平(はちまんたい)温泉郷に属する国民保養温泉。玉川上流の焼石原にわき，湯量豊富。含硫化水素酸性ミョウバン泉。95〜98℃。温泉華が採取され，北投石(ほくとうせき)（特別天然記念物）を産出する。ポリオの研究所がある。八幡平観光の基地で，田沢湖線田沢湖駅からバスが通じる。
