Teatro Olimpico is a 16th century theater in Vicenza, a city in the Veneto region in northeastern Italy. Andrea Palladio designed it based on an ancient Roman amphitheater, but he died midway through construction, and his student Scamozzi completed it. It is known as the only surviving Renaissance theater. The city and the mansions designed by Palladio in the Veneto region were registered as World Heritage sites (cultural heritage) in 1994.
