A town in Mii County in the central-southern part of Fukuoka Prefecture. Located in the central-northern part of the Tsukushi Plain, it occupies the lowlands on the right bank of the middle reaches of the Chikugo River. Rice is the main crop, but the town also produces plants and vegetables. The former site of an army airfield has become a reclaimed land. The Nishitetsu Amagi Line runs through the town. 22.84 km2 . 福岡県中南部，三井(みい)郡の町。筑紫(つくし)平野中北部に位置し，筑後川中流右岸の低地を占める。米作を主とし，植木，野菜などを産する。旧陸軍飛行場跡は開拓地となった。西鉄甘木(あまぎ)線が通じる。22.84km2。１万5284人（2010）。
