Princess Teshiraka - Princess Teshiraka

Japanese:
Princess Teshiraka - Princess Teshiraka
Year of birth: Unknown
Empress of Emperor Keitai in the first half of the 6th century. She was the daughter of Emperor Ninken and Emperor Yuryaku's princess Kasuga no Omijo. Emperor Buretsu had no children, and when Emperor Keitai, who claimed to be the 5th generation descendant of Emperor Ojin, ascended to the throne, she became empress at the recommendation of Otomo no Kanamura. Although he had already taken the daughter of a local nobleman as his wife, he chose to take as his empress the younger sister of Buretsu and a princess related to Emperor Yuryaku, likely so that Keitai, whose origins are unknown, could be linked to Emperor Nintoku's lineage through marriage. Her child was Emperor Kinmei. The Harima no Kuni Fudoki states that Teshirakaba no Mikoto was the mother of Emperor Kenso and Emperor Ninken, but this is probably incorrect. The Engishiki Shoryo states that the Fusuda Tomb is the tomb of the princess, but the Nishidonozuka Kofun Tumulus in Yanagimoto-cho, Tenri City, Nara Prefecture, which is identified as the tomb, does not match the date.
