Japanese: 他殖性植物 - たしょくせいしょくぶつ（英語表記）allogamous plant

An angiosperm that reproduces primarily by allogamy. Fertilization between separate individuals is called cross-fertilization, and reproduction by this form is called allogamy. In contrast, fertilization within the same individual is called self-fertilization, and angiosperms that reproduce primarily by this form are called autogamous plants. It is believed that in the process of differentiation of biological species, autogamous plants were the prototypes of angiosperms, and then allogamous plants that differentiated into various floral organ forms were created. Dioecious plants are allogamous because female and male flowers grow on separate individuals, and examples of such plants include spinach and hops.

おもに他殖によって生殖する被子植物のこと。別の個体間の受精を他家受精といい，この形式による生殖を他殖という。これに対して同一個体内での受精を自家受精といい，おもにこの形式によって生殖する被子植物を自殖性植物という。生物種の分化過程では自殖性植物が被子植物の原型であり，その後いろいろの花器形態に分化した他殖性植物ができたものと推測されている。雌雄異株は雌花と雄花が別の個体にできるから他殖性で，ホウレンソウ，ホップなどがある。
