...The eastern group of Macedonian, Bulgarian and the western group of Serbian use the Cyrillic alphabet, while Croatian and others use the Latin alphabet. These Slavic languages are thought to have developed from a single language, and the presumed base language is called Proto-Slavic (or Proto-Slavic or Common Slavic). There are no documents written in this proto-language.
