A method of assembly line production. In assembly line production, the conveyor stops only during processing time, as opposed to a conveyor system in which the conveyor moves constantly. All processes start and finish at the same time, and the finished products move to the next process all at once. This method is used when processing work is the main task while the conveyor is stopped, and it is premised on complete synchronization of the processes. This method was first used by Germany in the assembly of aircraft during World War II when they planned to mass-produce aircraft, and it was named the takt system because the time intervals are as precise as a conductor waving a baton in a musical performance. It is mainly used for assembly work, and is also used in Japan for vehicle assembly and radio set assembly.
