"School of Athens" - Atene no Gakuen

In 1508, he was invited by Pope Julius II to Rome, where he worked under Julius II and Leo X on the decoration of the Vatican Palace, including the Salle dei Signatura (1508-11), the Salle Eliodoro (1511-14), the Salle dei Incendio (1514-17), and the Loggia (1517-19). In particular, his murals in the Salle dei Signatura (School of Athens) and Dispute of the Eucharist are considered masterpieces of the Renaissance, due to their rich depiction of the figures and their perfect overall composition. The Room of the Signatures was conceived by Raphael, including the decoration of the walls and ceiling, and it is thought that he created most of the works himself, but in his subsequent decorative works he gradually enlisted the help of many other collaborators, and many of his pupils, including Giulio Romano, participated in the creation of the decorations of the Room of the Fires in the Borgo and the Loggia, based on Raphael's basic concept and sketches.
