Dine, Jim
Born June 16, 1935 in Cincinnati. American painter. Studied at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Ohio University. Exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1964. His works combine everyday objects with canvas paintings, and he is one of the founders of happenings and environmental art. His works include hanging garden tools from painted canvases. His major works include Shoes Walking Over My Head (1960) and Name Paintings No. 1, 1935-63 (1968-69).
