A GUI is a system that allows users to interact with a computer by treating the computer screen as a canvas on which they can draw what they want to do. This is made possible by the four basic elements that make up the GUI: WIMP (Window, Icon, Mouse, Pull-down menu). This allows users to do their work simply by "looking, selecting, and pointing."
