Joruri. Historical piece. 10 acts. A collaboration between Chikamatsu Hanji, Miyoshi Matsuraku, Takeda Bungo, and Takeda Koizumo. First performed at the Takemotoza Theater in Osaka in 1766. A dramatization of the revenge of the Ako Gishi, imitating the world of "Taiheiki." Among Chushingura plays, this is the second most famous after "Kanadehon Chushingura." Ishikiri Kanpei in the fourth act and Kinai Jyuka in the seventh act are well known. 浄瑠璃。時代物。一〇段。近松半二・三好松洛・竹田文吾・竹田小出雲らの合作。明和三年(一七六六)大坂竹本座初演。赤穂義士の復讐を「太平記」の世界に擬して脚色したもの。忠臣蔵物中、「仮名手本忠臣蔵」に次いで著名。四段目の石切り勘平、七段目の喜内住家が名高い。
