Born on June 1, 1891. In 1928, he became a staff officer at the Naval General Staff. He was considered the Naval General Staff's greatest expert on France. He committed suicide in a Tokaido Line sleeper car on May 20, 1932, while still serving as chief of the France Section. He was 40 years old. It is said that he acted in anger at the government's "interference with supreme command" over the ratification of the London Convention. Lieutenant Commander in the navy.
