Throughout the Onin War, the Hosokawa clan did not have internal conflicts like other shugo families, so the territory was relatively stable, but in 1579 (Bunmei 11), a conflict arose between the Naito clan and the Ichinomiya clan, and in 1582 the Naito clan was replaced as shugodai, with the Uehara clan serving as shugodai until 1593 (Meio 2).
