A general term for resins that can be used under high temperatures that normal resins cannot withstand. They are used in electronic parts used near heat sources, electronic parts that can withstand soldering temperatures, and automotive and aircraft parts. They are also called super engineering plastics. Because of their high heat resistance, molding is often difficult, but some can be injection molded. Non-melting resins are powder molded. Representative resins are shown in the table. [Masanobu Morikawa] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
