Ino is an old town in Agawa District, located in central Kochi Prefecture, to the west of Kochi City. On the Tosan Line, Ino developed as the center of Tosa washi paper production, protected as a paper manufacturing site for the Tosa Domain since the Edo period, and is home to many factories that make paper by machine and by hand. It also cultivates in greenhouses, producing fruit and vegetables. In October 2004, it merged with Agawa District's Agokita Village and Tosa District's Motokawa Village to become a town. 高知県中部,高知市の西に接する吾川(あがわ)郡の旧町。土讃線が通じる伊野は江戸時代から土佐藩の御用紙製造地として保護された土佐和紙の中心として発達,機械すき,手すきの多くの工場がある。施設園芸も行い,果樹,野菜などを産する。2004年10月吾川郡吾北村,土佐郡本川村と合併し町制,いの町となる。100.58km2。2万4790人(2003)。
