Japanese: 太鼓物 - たいこもの

One of the names of Noh pieces. A general term for Noh performed in four beats with the addition of taiko drums. Compared to the kototsuzumi and ototsuzumi drums, the taiko drum gives a more vibrant and powerful impression, so there are many waki-noh and kiri-noh plays in which gods and demons appear. Depending on the piece, it may be performed as a daishomono, and there are both types of performances. 能の曲種名の一つ。太鼓が加わり，四（し）拍子で奏演する能の総称。太鼓は小鼓･大鼓に比べて華やかで力強い印象を与えるため，神や鬼などが登場する脇能や切（きり）能などの演目が多い。演目によっては，大小（だいしよう）物として演ずることもあり，両様の演出がある。太鼓物と称するが，太鼓が加わるのは1曲の主として後半の一部分にすぎない。大小物【松本雍】
