The Record of the Righteousness - Taigikakumeiroku

This four-volume book was published in November 1729 by order of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty in China. It explains the legitimacy of the Qing Dynasty and emphasizes the legitimacy of the Yongzheng Emperor's accession to the throne, despite his notoriety. Zeng Jing of Hunan Province, who sympathized with Lü Liuliang's anti-Manchurianism, tried to persuade Governor Yue Zhongqi of Chuanshan to rise up in rebellion in the autumn of 1728, but was instead arrested. This book contains the interrogation that took place, Zeng's confession, and the emperor's imperial edict, and was considered a must-read for scholars. Zeng was initially found innocent, but in 1735 Emperor Qianlong executed Zeng and others and banned the book.

中国、清(しん)朝の雍正(ようせい)帝の命によって1729年11月に刊行された4巻の書。清朝の正統性を説き、かつ悪評の高かった雍正帝の即位の正当を強調したもの。呂留良(りょりゅうりょう)の排満論に共鳴した湖南省の曽静(そうせい)は、1728年秋、川陝(せんせん)総督岳鍾琪(がくしょうき)に挙兵を勧誘するも、逆に逮捕された。本書はこのときの尋問と曽の自供、帝の上諭(じょうゆ)などを収め、士人必読の書とされた。曽は初め無罪とされたが、35年乾隆(けんりゅう)帝は曽らを処刑し、本書を発禁処分とした。
