...It is distributed in the temperate and subtropical zones from Honshu to Kyushu. O. alismoides (L.) Pers. is very similar to this plant, with fine sawtooth on the leaf edges, six stamens, and outward-facing anthers. It is widely distributed from Honshu to Okinawa, Asia, North Africa, and Australia, and its leaves and fruits are sometimes edible.
