[Born] 1732 [Died] April 25, 1817. A leading scholar of Austrian cameralism. Professor at the University of Vienna, later rector. He also served as advisor to Maria Theresa, Joseph II, and Leopold II. His main work is Grundsätze der Polizei, Handlungs-und Finanzwissenschaft (Principles of Administration, Commerce, and Finance) (2 volumes, 1765-67).
