Zonguldak - Zonguldak (English spelling)

A port city on the Black Sea in the northwest of Turkey's Asia Minor Peninsula. The capital of Zonguldak Province. Population 104,276 (2000). Turkey's largest coalfield is located nearby, producing high-quality coking coal, which is shipped to various parts of Turkey by port and rail. Some of it is sent to the port city of Ereli, 35 km to the west, and the iron ore-producing town of Karabük, 75 km to the southeast, supporting the steel industry in both areas of the province.

トルコの小アジア半島北西部、黒海に臨む港湾都市。ゾングルダク県の県都。人口10万4276（2000）。付近にトルコ最大の炭田があり、良質の粘結炭を産出し、港湾、鉄道によってトルコ各地へ積み出される。その一部は西35キロメートルの港町エレーリ、南東75キロメートルの鉄鉱産地の町カラビュクに送られ、県下のこの両地の鉄鋼業を支えている。
