[Born] Daoguang 2 (1822)
[Died] 1864, 3rd year of Tongzhi. Leader of the late Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in Jiangxi, Nanchang, China. Born in Huaxian, Guangdong Province. Younger brother of Hong Xiuquan. Did not participate in the Jintian Uprising, studied Western studies in Hong Kong and Shanghai, entered Tianjing (Nanjing) in the 9th year of Xianfeng (1859), was appointed as King of Gan, and was in charge of policy. Opposed superstition, he wrote the New Book of Capitalism, which aimed to introduce Western capitalist systems, but he could not gain the support of other leaders or the people, and was unable to realize his goal. He also adopted a compromising stance toward the great powers, and after the fall of Tianjing, he fled with his young leader, but was arrested in Jiangxi Province and later executed.

中国，太平天国後期の指導者。広東省花県の人。洪秀全の族弟。金田蜂起には参加せず，ホンコン，上海で洋学を学び，咸豊9 (1859) 年天京 (南京) に入り，干王に封じられて政策面を担当した。迷信に反対し，西欧資本主義の諸制度を移入しようとして『資政新編』を著わしたが，他の領袖や民衆の支持を得られず，実現にはいたらなかった。また，列強に対しては妥協的姿勢をとり，天京陥落後，幼主を奉じて出奔したが，江西省で逮捕され，のち処刑された。
