Okura Shozaemon Family

...The Konparu family had a fief in Nara, and at the end of the Edo period, they were allowed to issue silver bills (privately made paper money) called Konparu bills, which were valid in their fiefs. The Konparu troupe had branch schools such as Okura-dayu, Miyao-dayu, and Kasuga-dayu, which had existed before Zenchiku, but all of them died out before the Edo period, except for Okura-dayu (Okura-Shozaemon family), whose name was inherited by Konparu Yasuteru's third son Ujiki. The branch families that supported the school included the Konparu Yazaemon family, descended from Yasuteru's second son Yasuki and served the Owari Tokugawa family, the Takeda Gonbei family, descended from Yasuteru's grandson Yasunobu and served the Kaga Maeda family and also performed Noh at the Imperial Court, and the aforementioned Okura family, which served the Date family, but all of them were cut off with the Meiji Restoration. ...
