Hematopoietic stem cells - Zouketsu Kansai

Also known as blood stem cells. Stem cells that have the ability to differentiate into all blood cells. They exist in bone marrow and have the CD34 antigen on their cell surface. The proteins present on the cell surface differ depending on the differentiation state of the cell, so conversely, they can be used as markers to classify cells. For this purpose, numerous antibodies against cell surface antigens (cluster of differentiation, CD) have been produced and used. The term antigen here is synonymous with protein molecules, meaning "a substance that becomes an antigen."

血液幹細胞ともいう．すべての血球に分化できる能力をもつ幹細胞．骨髄に存在し，細胞表面にCD34抗原を有する．細胞表面に存在するタンパク質は，細胞の分化状態により異なるので，逆にそれらをマーカーに細胞を分類できる．このような目的で，細胞表面抗原(cluster of differentiation，CD)に対する多数の抗体がつくられ，利用されてきた．ここでいう抗原は，“抗原になる物質”の意味でタンパク質分子と同義である．
