〘名〙① 海上から吹いて来る風。海上で起こる風。うみかぜ。唐詩では、西域の湖のあたりに吹く風をいう。※南郭先生文集‐二編（1737）五・梅花落「海風吹起沙場雪、依_レ旧傷_レ心羌笛声」〔儲光羲‐臨江亭五詠詩〕② 海岸地方で、昼間、海上から陸地に吹きこんでくる風。陸地は海水よりも熱しやすいために起こる現象。日の出後約二時間後から夕方まで続き、午後二～三時ごろが最も強い。海軟風。⇔陸風
