〘 noun 〙① A narrow obi that women wear to keep their kimono from coming undone. It is made from sturdy fabric such as Hakata-ori, and the ends are tucked in to secure it. ※Akimaki (1911)〈Tamura Toshiko〉 13 "The thin Hakata datemaki had fallen apart"② A mixture of beaten eggs and white fish paste, seasoned with mirin and salt, poured thickly into a tamagoyaki pan, cooked, and then rolled up on a rolling mat so that the cut surface is swirled. It is used in celebratory dishes.

〘名〙① 女性が和服の着くずれを防ぐために締める幅の狭い帯。博多織などのしっかりした布で作り、端をはさみ込んでとめる。※あきらめ(1911)〈田村俊子〉一三「細い博多の伊達巻がずるこけてゐた」② といた卵に白身魚のすり身を加えて混ぜ、みりんと塩で調味して卵焼き鍋で厚く流して焼き、切り口がうず巻状になるよう巻き簀で巻いたもの。祝いごとの料理に用いる。
