Grass path collection - Soukeishuu

A collection of poems by Okuma Kotomichi. Three volumes, three books. Published in 1863 (Bunkyu 3). Having developed his own style of poetry in Fukuoka, Chikuzen, Kotomichi went to Osaka at the age of 60 to present his works to the world. He lived in Nakanoshima and carefully selected 971 poems from the tens of thousands he had written over the past 10 years, wrote the manuscript himself, and published them. His style of poetry is original in its insight and ideas, and is light, witty, and innovative, with precise observations written in colloquial language. "The straw that sleeps on my sister's back is like a windmill that spins even in my idle hands," "The mountain breeze leaves the flowers that fall, exhausted from the force of temptation, to the flowing water."

大隈言道(おおくまことみち)の歌集。3巻3冊。1863年（文久3）刊。筑前(ちくぜん)福岡にあって独自の歌風を築いた言道が、自作を世に問うべく60歳にして大坂に上り、中の島に寓居(ぐうきょ)、10余年来の歌数万のなかから971首厳選し、自ら版下を書いて刊行した。その歌風は、着眼発想において奇抜、精緻(せいち)な観察を口語調のことばに盛って軽妙洒脱(しゃだつ)、斬新(ざんしん)な趣(おもむき)がある。「妹(いも)が背に眠るわらはのうつつなき手にさへめぐる風車かな」「さそひゆくちからつかれて散る花を流るる水にゆづる山風」。
