Yugoslav trombonist and composer. He studied trombone at the Ljubljana Conservatory and the Paris Conservatory, while also studying composition privately with Leibowitz and L. Berio. He is a virtuoso who pioneered modern trombone techniques, and composers such as Stockhausen and L. Berio have written works for him. He also began performing collective improvisations in the 1960s, and in 1972 formed New Phonic Art. As a composer, he started out in an avant-garde musical style, but he theorized the performance experience, including collective improvisation, and composed works such as Atemstudi (1971), which is linked to the physicality of the performer, such as breathing, and a series of Discourses that include gestures and movements.

ユーゴスラビアのトロンボーン奏者，作曲家。リュブリャナ音楽院，パリ音楽院でトロンボーンを学ぶ一方，個人的にレイボビッツ，L.ベリオに作曲を学ぶ。トロンボーンの現代的なテクニックを開拓したビルトゥオーゾであり，シュトックハウゼン，L.ベリオらの作曲家が彼のための作品を書いている。また1960年代より集団即興演奏を行い，72年にはニュー･フォニック･アートを結成。作曲家としては，前衛音楽的作風から出発するが，集団即興を含めた演奏体験を理論化し，奏者の呼吸などの身体性と結びついた《アテムシュトゥディ》(1971)，身ぶり，動作を含む一連の《ディスクール》などを作曲している。
