Helminth - Helminth

Also called worms, they are a collective term for parasites, excluding parasitic protozoa and arthropods, such as trematodes, tapeworms, nematodes, linear worms, hookhead worms, and leeches. This is not a natural classification of animals, but a grouping of animals grouped together for convenience.

In the past, the term was used to collectively refer to animals that were soft, slender, bilaterally symmetrical, did not have a developed nervous system like mollusks, and did not have jointed limbs like arthropods, such as flatworms, nematodes, nematodes, nematodes, coronocephalopods, and annelids.

蠕形動物ともいい、いわゆる寄生虫のなかから寄生性の原生動物や節足動物を除いた、吸虫、条虫、線虫、類線形虫、鉤頭虫(こうとうちゅう)、ヒルなどを一括していう。これは自然分類的な動物群ではなく、便宜的にまとめられた動物群である。

　かつては体が柔らかで細長く、左右相称で、軟体動物のように発達した神経系をもたず、また節足動物のように関節肢をもたないもの、すなわち扁形動物(へんけいどうぶつ)、紐形動物(ひもがたどうぶつ)、線形動物、類線形動物、鉤頭動物、環形動物などを総称した。
