Arikabe - Arikabe

Japanese: 有壁 - ありかべ

It is an old post town in Kannari, Kurihara City, in northern Miyagi Prefecture. It is home to Arikabe Station on the JR Tohoku Main Line. Arikabe-juku on the Oshu Kaido was built in 1619 (Genwa 5) as a horse-transit post town, and the main inn was later established there. The current main inn building was rebuilt after 1744 (Enkyo 1) and is designated as a national historic site. Entering through the Onari Gate leads from the carriage porch to the upper room (shoin-style). There are also 64 checkpoints remaining.

Former Arikabe Inn
This was the head inn of Arikabe-juku on the Oshu Kaido road, where feudal lords from Matsumae, Hachinohe, Morioka, and Ichinoseki used to travel to Edo during their alternate attendance. 宮城県北部、栗原市(くりはらし)金成(かんなり)にある旧宿場町。JR東北本線有壁駅がある。奥州街道有壁宿は1619年（元和5）に馬継宿場としてつくられ、その後本陣が置かれた。現存する本陣の建物は1744年（延享1）以降に再建されたもので、国の史跡に指定されている。御成(おなり)門を入ると、車寄せから上段の間（書院造）へと続く。関札も64枚残っている。
