Japanese: 生玉万句 - いくたままんく

Haikai. Edited by Ihara Tsurunaga (Saikaku). Published in 1673 (Kanbun 13). This work contains three works, one hundred thousand verses and one additional hundred verses, that Tsurunaga organized and performed at the Ikutama Shrine in Osaka over a period of 12 days in the spring of that year, as well as 53 volumes of one hundred verses for a celebratory performance by various poets. The intention behind the performance was to oppose the manku works of established forces, which despised Tsurunaga and his group as a Nalanda school and alienated them (preface), but it was probably a big gamble taken by Tsurunaga to fulfill his ambition to enter the central haiku world.

俳諧。井原鶴永(西鶴)編。1673年(寛文13)刊。同年春，12日間にわたり，大坂生玉社において，鶴永が主催し興行した万句と追加百韻の各三つ物，および諸家による祝賀興行の百韻53巻の発句（ほつく）を収める。興行の意図は，鶴永らの一派を阿蘭陀（ナランダ）流とさげすみ，これを疎外して行われた既成勢力による万句に対抗したものという(序文)が，それを口実に中央俳壇進出の野心を満たすべく，鶴永のうった大きな賭けであろう。
