The town is located in Kita Matsuura District, Nagasaki Prefecture, and is made up of the islands of Ojika, Oshima, Uejima, and Nozakijima in the northern part of the Goto Islands. The surrounding area is rich in fishing grounds, with Fuefuki in the center and Maehara serving as fishing bases. The town focuses on field crops, produces Japanese beef cattle, and also raises silkworms. Ojika Airport is located here. Area: 25.53 km2 . Population: 2,849 (2010).
