Odin's Sacred Land - Odin's Sacred Land

...Population: 184,000 (1996). The name of the town originates from Othensve, the sacred land of Odin, named after the Norse god Odin, and the place first appeared in records in 988. A bishopric was established there around 1020, and it was later considered a sacred place after the Danish king Cnut II (Holy King), who was murdered in the local Albani Church in 1086.
