Precision casting - Seimitsuchuzo (English spelling) precision casting

Japanese: 精密鋳造 - せいみつちゅうぞう（英語表記）precision casting

A method of producing castings with much higher dimensional accuracy than conventional sand casting without using a metal mold. There are investment casting, ceramic mold casting, plaster mold casting, etc.

It is also called the lost wax process. It can be broadly divided into the solid mold method and the improved ceramic shell mold method. The process of each method is as follows (see figure).
