Japanese: 鋳掛け - いかけ

This technique involves injecting molten metal into the specified location where the defect has occurred, solidifying and joining the metal, and is a type of welding technique. It has long been used to repair defects in castings, such as shrinkage cavities. It is also called hon-chikake. When performing chikake, the joint is preheated, and it is common to anneal the joint either locally or overall after chikake. 溶解した金属を欠陥部の生じた所定の個所に注入して凝固･接合させる技術で，一種の溶接技術である。鋳物の引け巣などの欠陥部を補修するために古くから行われてきた。本鋳掛けとも呼ばれる。鋳掛けを行うときは接合部を予熱しておき，また鋳掛け後は局部または全体の焼きなましを行うのが普通である。現在では，溶接技術の信頼性が著しく向上したため，アーク溶接，ガス溶接などによって補修されることが多い。【梅田高照】
