Political movement

Japanese: 政治運動 - せいじうんどう

A sustained action taken by a large number of people or groups for a specific political purpose. Pure power issues are rare, and they develop into various "social movements" that aim to achieve a variety of social goals. Originally, political parties were the institutionalized form of political movements in modern states, but at the stage of the mass state, their integrating function has declined, and instead pressure groups have become an important means of political movements. In addition, a new political movement known as the mass movement has developed, in which large numbers of people are organized for limited political purposes.

多数の人間あるいは集団が，一定の政治目的のためにする継続的な行動。純粋な権力問題はまれであって，多様な社会的目的を実現しようとするさまざまな「社会運動」として展開される。もともと政党が近代国家における政治運動の制度化された形態であったが，大衆国家段階にいたって統合機能を低下させ，これに代って圧力団体が政治運動の重要なにない手となっている。また，限定された政治目的のために多数の民衆が組織化されて大衆運動という新たな政治運動が展開されている。
