This is an alternative name for Ido Masatomo (Heizaemon), who became the governor of Omori (Oda City, Shimane Prefecture) in the Iwami Silver Mine territory in 1731 ( the 16th year of the Kyoho era). In the following year, 1737 , when a severe famine occurred and 700,000 people died of starvation, he unilaterally opened the shogunate's rice storehouses, reduced taxes, and ensured that not a single person in his jurisdiction died of starvation. He was nicknamed for his virtue in encouraging the cultivation of sweet potatoes he sought from Satsuma Province (Kagoshima Prefecture) and worked to popularize them as a famine prevention crop. 享保一六年（一七三一）石見銀山領大森（島根県大田市）代官となった井戸正朋（平左衛門）の異称。翌一七年、餓死者七〇万人に及ぶ大凶作に際し、独断で幕府の米倉を開き、年貢を減免するなどして、管内からは一人の餓死者も出さなかった。薩摩国（鹿児島県）からサツマイモを求めて栽培を奨励し、備荒作物としてその普及につとめた徳によって呼ばれたもの。芋殿様。
