The process of dispersing liquid into gas as droplets. A wide range of particle sizes are used, from large raindrops (a few mm) to mist or fumes (a few μm), just like naturally occurring droplets. [Operation method] There are five methods for atomization: (1) Using the relative speed between the gas and liquid to create a liquid film or liquid string and break it into small pieces, (2) Inducing self-excited vibration in a liquid column or liquid film, which then breaks it into relatively large droplets due to the surface waves that grow, and (3) Breaking it up by high-speed collisions between liquids or high-speed collisions of liquids with a solid wall.
