A town in Tokoro County, eastern Hokkaido. It occupies the southwestern part of the Kitami Basin, just south of Kitami City, and is covered with terraced landforms. It produces rice, potatoes, wheat, sugar beets, and onions, and also practices dairy farming. The Tokachi-Okhotsk Expressway runs through it. 190.95 km2 . 5,435 people (2010).
