A former town in Anpachi County in the southwest of Gifu Prefecture. It is located in a ring-shaped area surrounded by the Ibi River and the Nagara River, and developed as a post town on the Mino Road. Many people commute to Gifu and Ogaki. The town also has a textile industry. In March 2006, it was incorporated into Kamishizu Town in Yoro County and Ogaki City. 3.39 km2 . Population: 4,678 (2003). 岐阜県南西部,安八(あんぱち)郡の旧町。揖斐(いび)川と長良川に囲まれた輪中(わじゅう)地帯にあり,美濃路の宿場町として発達。岐阜・大垣両市への通勤者が多い。繊維工業も行われる。2006年3月養老郡上石津町と大垣市へ編入。3.39km2。4678人(2003)。
