Endoscope

...An instrument for observing the space inside the body, that is, the internal cavity. It is a translation of the word endoscope (endo means inside, and scope means a tool for observing things, such as a telescope), which means an instrument for observing the inside. Depending on whether the internal cavity being examined is the stomach or the bladder, it is called a gastroscope or a cystoscope, and endoscope is a general term for both.
