Saturated compound

A saturated ketone is an organic compound in which all carbon-carbon bonds in the molecule are single bonds and no double or triple bonds are present. In other words, the valence of the carbon atoms is satisfied. This includes open-chain alkanes, alicyclic cycloalkanes, and heterocyclic compounds that have no double or triple bonds in the ring. However, a saturated ketone is also a compound that contains functional groups such as carbonyl, cyano, and nitro groups that form multiple bonds between carbon and heteroatoms (atoms other than carbon) or between heteroatoms. For example, acetone _CH3COCH3 is a saturated _ketone .

有機化合物のうち、分子内に含まれるすべての炭素‐炭素結合が単結合で、二重結合や三重結合を含まない化合物をいう。すなわち、炭素原子の原子価が満たされている化合物である。鎖式のアルカン、脂環式のシクロアルカン、環内に二重結合や三重結合をもたない複素環式化合物がこれに属する。しかし、炭素とヘテロ原子（炭素以外の原子）間、あるいはヘテロ原子間で多重結合をつくっているようなカルボニル基、シアノ基、ニトロ基などの官能基があっても飽和化合物である。たとえばアセトンCH₃COCH₃は飽和ケトンである。
