C ₂₁ H ₃₉ N ₇ O ₁₂ (581.57). An aminoglycoside antibiotic produced by Streptomyces griseus . It was the second antibiotic to be used clinically after penicillin. The sulfate salt is a white to pale yellowish white powder. The decomposition point of the sulfate salt is about 230 °C. -79.5° (water). At 28 °C, it is soluble in water at a concentration of more than 20 mg mL ^-1 and in methanol at a concentration of 0.85 mg mL ^-1 . It was often used because of its strong inhibitory activity against gram-negative bacteria and tuberculosis bacteria, which are resistant to penicillin. Current tuberculosis treatment involves the use of multiple drugs, but streptomycin is used as one of the first-line drugs by intramuscular injection. It binds to both the 30S and 50S subunits of the bacterial ribosome and inhibits protein synthesis. _{LD 50} 600-1250 mg/kg (in mice, subcutaneous injection). C₂₁H₃₉N₇O₁₂(581.57)．Streptomyces griseusが産生するアミノ配糖体抗生物質．ペニシリンについで臨床応用された第2番目の抗生物質．硫酸塩は白色から淡黄白色の粉末．硫酸塩は分解点約230 ℃．－79.5°(水)．28 ℃ で水に20 mg mL^－1 以上，メタノールに0.85 mg mL^－1 溶ける．ペニシリンが効かないグラム陰性菌と結核菌に強い阻止活性をもつため，よく使用された．現在の結核治療は多剤を使用するが，ストレプトマイシンは第一選択薬の一つとして筋肉注射で使われる．細菌のリボソームの30Sおよび50Sの両サブユニットに結合して，タンパク質合成を阻害する．LD₅₀ 600～1250 mg/kg(マウス，皮下注)．[CAS 57-92-1][CAS 3810-74-0:1.5硫酸塩]
