Stock option

Stock option
Options generally refer to the right to acquire (call, option to buy) or dispose of (put, option to sell) securities or goods at a predetermined fixed price. In the broad sense, options in which the object of acquisition or disposal is stock are called stock options. Of these, the one that has been much discussed recently is the right of a company's directors or employees to acquire stock from the company at a fixed price. If the stock price rises above the predetermined exercise price, profits can be made by exercising the option.
