Organic amnesia

…Amnesia is likely to occur when brain function is suddenly impaired, causing impaired consciousness. Amnesia caused by organic brain damage is called organic amnesia, and can be seen after head trauma (concussion, cerebral hemorrhage), cerebrovascular disease (stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral thrombosis), encephalitis, carbon monoxide poisoning, alcohol poisoning, epileptic seizures, etc. Amnesia caused by psychological causes (shock) is called psychogenic amnesia.
