Fortune teller - Bokusenkan

Japanese: 卜占官 - ぼくせんかん
Fortune teller - Bokusenkan
A translation of the word augur, an official diviner in ancient Rome. Following a complex system, they would seek out divine will by observing the sky, the flight and calls of birds, and on the battlefield, chickens pecking at food. They would also interpret omens. The right of divination belonged to the Imperium, and the highest public official would have an oracle look for bad omens each time he took office or acted on a national matter such as convening an assembly or conducting an overseas campaign, ensuring that he acted in accordance with divine will. In the past, three nobles were appointed, and from 300 BC nine people, including commoners, were appointed by recommendation, and later they were elected by 17 tribes. [Suzuki Isshu]
