〘名〙 (Stellite) 特殊合金の一つ。商標名。成分はコバルト四〇~五五パーセント、クロム一五~三五パーセント、タングステン一〇~二〇パーセント、鉄五パーセント以下、マンガン一パーセント以下。硬さ・耐熱性・耐食性にすぐれ、焼入れの必要なく鋳造のまま使用され、鍛造(たんぞう)はできない。切削工具類、ダイス、ドリル、バイト、発動機の排気バルブなどに用いる。
