...In addition to rice cultivation, the area is known for its melon cultivation in Nanbari. At the Soto Zen temple Donko-in in Sako, there is a five-ringed tower said to be the grave of Aisu Shigeaki (Yoshiaki), the lord of Gokasho Castle (Nansei-machi), which was destroyed by the Kitabatake clan in 1459 (Choroku 3). The New Year's events held at Ukihi Shrine in Hamashima, the Ban-no-Uo and Yumi-hiki rituals, are well-known.
