1902‐83 Hungarian poet. When the Hungarian Republican government was established in 1919, he joined it locally. After the collapse of the government, he went into exile in Paris and began publishing poetry. He returned to Hungary in 1926. He was eventually recognized as a promising poet of the younger generation, and after Babić's death he took over Nyugat (West) and ran it as Star of Hungary until 1944. After liberation, he continued to run the newly reborn magazine and participate in politics until 1948, but then devoted himself to creative work, such as the historical drama Dózsa Györgyi (1956).
